Group Fitness (In-Person Only)
Work out with your friends or family in fun, small-group sessions. You’ll receive personalized coaching while benefiting from the energy and motivation of working out together—at a lower cost than one-on-one training.
Custom Program Design (Available Online and In-Person)
A personalized workout plan tailored to your goals, fitness level, and available equipment. This program can be purchased as a standalone product for self-guided training. Updates are optional and can be added at any time if you want adjustments to your program.
Ongoing Coaching Package with Program + Support (Minimum 3-Month Commitment)
A comprehensive online package that includes a custom workout plan along with ongoing coaching and updates to support your progress over three months.

About ME

Hi, my name is Jesse Ratcliff. I am a personal trainer with two decades of practical experience in sports, martial arts, strength and conditioning. I am also an avid reader and writer with particular interests in health, philosophy, and religion.In 2024, I decided to combine my passions for training and writing into Lift Weight and Contemplate. My goal is to help my clients improve their health by integrating sustainable habits into their lives.I encourage them to live contemplative and meditative lives through reflection and introspection, leading to personal growth and understanding.

I have two decades of practical experience across a range of disciplines. I started out playing sports and competing in school athletics, eventually pursuing a career in bodybuilding as a young adult before realizing that it wasn't a sustainable practice for me. This led me to an intermittent but ongoing yoga practice, which continues to this day. After leaving the world of bodybuilding, I was drawn to endurance sports such as long-distance running and martial arts like Muay Thai, Sambo, and Aikido.
Now, at the age of 32, I'm more dedicated to training than ever before. I train every day, focusing on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while maintaining my gym practice and general physical preparedness. For me, this means achieving a balance of strength, flexibility/mobility, and cardiovascular fitness.
What types of training programs do you offer?
Programs can be customized to fit your individual goals and needs.
Typically I offer two types of training programs. The first type is a specialised program focusing on individual aspects of training such as strength, flexibility/mobility, cardiovascular fitness, weight loss and hypertrophy.
The second type of program is a more generalised approach, in line with the principles of "General Physical Preparedness", the concept associated with legendary strength coach Pavel Tsatsouline and the Russian military.
How do I get started with personal training?
To get started, book your FREE 30 min strategy call in which we will discuss your individual goals and needs. This session helps me create a personalized training plan for you.
What if I have injuries or medical conditions?
Your safety is my top priority. During the initial consultation, we'll discuss any injuries or medical conditions you have. I will tailor your training program to accommodate your condition and work closely with your healthcare provider if necessary.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require a 24-hour notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled within 24 hours will be charged in full. This policy ensures that I can effectively manage my schedule and accommodate all clients.
What happens if I need to rebook a session?
If you provide at least 24 hours notice, we can reschedule the session within 7 days of the original session time.

My rates vary depending on the type of training, session length, and frequency. Please contact me directly for detailed pricing information and package options.
